For $16.00 ea you can take the taxi over to Isla Mujeres. Within a short walking distance from the hotel there are water taxis. They also provided transportation to Xcaret. $60.00 each and saved approximately $15.00 each compared to what the hotel charged. We went directly to the Xcaret office near the convention center and baught our tickets for approx. Be sure to visit Xcaret and Isla Mujueres (?sp). I would also suggest taking the bus for $0.65 each way. There is a small store next to the hotel near the Dolphin Discovery with groceries cheaper than the hotel but still more expensive than Wal-mart. Be sure to stay away from the store in the hotel. You'll want to buy your liquor at Wal-mart as well. The kitchen had just enough utensils and plenty of cubbard space. We stocked our fridge and ate breakfast and lunch from our groceries and went out every night for dinner. We quickly discovered that you could take the bus to the old downtown area to Walmart for groceries. We only ordered food one night from the restaraunt and it was pretty expensive. Even though we were there in March you had to be pretty warm from the sun to get in them. The pools were cold since they are not heated. The ocean water is nice to swim in and there are very few rocks. The workers tried daily to clean it but, just couldn't seem to keep up with it. The beach is really nice with the exception of all the seaweed that needed to be cleaned near the water. It got pretty windy and loud a few nights but, the view was worth it. Two balconies with sliding glass doors allowed us to really enjoy it. It was very spacious and had an incredible view. Our room was on the 5th floor and over looking the ocean. We had a one bedroom suite in the Imperial Fiesta Club tower. I wanted to be sure to write a review since I found so many useful tips on this site myself during our planning. We just returned last week from Hotel Casa Maya and really enjoyed our stay.
